Ah, would have posted this earlier had I not spent some time out. Well, how often do I talk about my outings out in downtown? First let's get down to business.

My new banner is finally up, just hours after the scans went up. Again, I was working on this after lunch, when my schedule had to shift an entire day, so some of that time was spent over at the SM Megamall. As you can see, I did 3 nude filters in almost 2 hours. Definitely a new record for me, I used to think doing 1 a day was overkill, but 3? GLORIOUS XD

But eh? That's it? Where's the complete nude filters at the Sankaku Channel, moeren, insertnextbestimagesitehere? I know this is going to sound very weird, complicated, extremely strange, but.... I will not be releasing them, at all for that matter. Why? WHYYYYYYY you ask? Know that this isn't about exclusivity to my blog, or whatever, heck this is my first update since.... whatever, the point is, I have 2 reasons, one of them is personal, but the other one is obvious and hilarious: the nude filtered versions of the Megami/Nyantype scans you see in my banner? Yeah, just those 3 girls on the right. I have a rule, ja, and that is "do not upload incomplete work", and as you might know about the source scans that I have used, the ZnT scan also has Louise in it, the Guilty Crown scan has Inori and Tsugumi, and of course the Ano Natsu scan has Lemon, Kanna and Mio in it. I of course did not 'shop those girls, hence, "incomplete" work. But.... maybe if you folks donate time to me, I miiiiiiiight reconsider :P

Speaking of my time outside, I know I don't talk about it much, but this time was entertaining as it was enlightening. First off, the Power Mac store in the CyberZone at SM Megamall, one of the iPads was not operational:

Yep, power cord is funked XD. So I had to scoot over to a vacate one (a loli was playing with the black iPad), and one reason why I had to mention all this, is because this is the first time I ever saw the iPad in the flesh, and in operation. All I was amused about was how thin the thing was. But then the other Android tablets I held were like that too, so :P By the way, I took a portrait photo of myself on one of those iPads. Darn, forgot to delete the incriminating evidence!

Speaking of loli's *cough* I got a funny true story. When I was exfil-ing the mall, a little girl was running around waaah waaah, and you know how they have those mall directories near the entrance/exit? Well, this one is a giant touchscreen, and this girl runs over to it screaming and then she takes that little hand of hers and slams her palm onto the screen. Man, I had to laugh so hard because the screen rejected that giant capacitive palm of hers XD.... she reminded me of Papa no Iu Koto Kikinasai's Hinata XD

One of the funny things about Yahoo these days is their comments. Yep, practically any website with comments are funny too. But the prevalent funny thing happening at Yahoo right now is the general consensus among readers that Yahoo should attach pictures to their new articles. The next best suggestion was to erase those damn video clips and let us actually read the articles, not watch them. In honor of my continued support of Yahoo since 1997, and a big grin to all their readers, I will post the pictures from the Flash file so that you don't need to go to a computer that has Flash player just to see these pictures.

Well, according to the main site, looks like they'll be attending an event on March 31 through April 1. With Yui Horie in tow as well as some other cast members (I presume, since Miyano Mamoru is listed), maybe they'll announce some Season 2 details? Hope so!

That's from Hong Kong (which they imported from Japan of course), which in all my years of eating Pocky it's the first I've seen of the gold box (I previously tasted only Strawberry and Regular Chocolate).

While we're on the topic of snacks, I've been meaning to ask about this:

Sorry there's no picture of the actual pastry, but that's what it's called, and if you're wondering where it went, I ate it already :P

I want to know what the ingredients are because it's Green lol, of course I would choose that over Chocolate, Strawberry, mango etc. And what does Pandan mean? :o (This pastry is from Max's Restaurant, the Corner Bakery that is)

Well, it's one of those posts where I update on some things. Anything. Well, actually, I have an ongoing mess with one of my hard drives (S.M.A.R.T. area tells me it's dead. Yeah, how in the heck is the HDD still good but the SMART part is dead?), so I have to scrap some photoshop ideas, and while that's going I figured I might as well post something....

You know how there seems to be a lot of time if your computer is busy doing something, so I did some digging around my stuff and found this pencil board that came with the Stratos 4 OVA DVD (le hot spring ep :D) Now I remember why I was attracted to Infinite Stratos. Back in Winter 2011, somewhere in the back of my mind the fond memories of Stratos 4 must have compelled me to get into Infinite Stratos, which of course I eventually got to love the girls in that series as well. Well, look at her, aint she a beauty. GREEN TWINTAILS DAMNIT.

And of course it got me thinking. A lot of the DVD's I bought have those extras in them, such as Galaxy Angel's box set that included gashapon figures, or the Gravion DVD volume 1 which came with decals. Honestly, if they didn't have those extras, I wouldn't have had bought them, considering I was traveling at the time with hardly any space to transport them ($29 single discs, back in 2006-2007 from AAFES on US Army bases in Germany). English licensed nowadays should include little things like this, because I know it made me happy with my purchases, which I'm sure it made others happy too.

Speaking of photoshops, here's a quickie (above). Yes, she is photoshopped. Take a closer look :P Now if I hadn't had so much busy things to do, I'd photoshop the rest of her body :D

Envy Spectre... the dumbest name imaginable. Envy sounds like it oughta the name of a fragrance marketed by Li'l Kim or someone equally tacky. Then: Spectre. Like a ghost. Does anyone envy a ghost, apart from 9 year-old boys or black metallers? The two words don't make sense together, and the combination sounds ridiculous to boot. It's like they're trying to market it to Hoochie Mama chicks with the word "envy," and also their goofy male counterparts with a bad ass name like "spectre." Ridiculous. And this is coming from someone who loves everybody!

Hello 2012.....what the heck? I'm capped even more?

Ah, what a way to start a new year. My banner has an all time low 4 girls only, due to the strange lack of 2012-series (bouncy) posters from Nyantype and Megami. Then I find some disturbing new info on why my internet connectivity has sucked major donkey balls.

According to the Philippine undernet (sorry, can't post links, but citizens of this country would know which sites I am talking about), my wireless carrier (Globe) has made some frustrating new changes since last month:

-The blocking of ports due to abuse of cheapskate users has affected paying subscribers like me.
-NEW INFO: a new bandwidth limit of 400kbps (That's a download speed of 40 KB a second for those of you who spend time on fiber optic lines and forgot what kbps means :P) has been imposed, time of day uncertain but according to my own tests, it happens around 9AM and well into the night.
-NEW INFO: it seems to be established by some folks (sorry, I don't understand the language so I'm picking off what little english they use) that there is a 450MB data transfer limit from 10AM to 11PM. According to my own tests, this seems to be true as they royally lied about the 800MB limit that I never reached that they so graciously tried to notify me about.

What does this mean? It cuts into my anime time even more. And that was on rough seas since last year. Again, why don't I use any other wireless carrier?

From one burning ship to another? No way. Reality is, the data plans and service in this country suck black holes. Now Hong Kong has better prepaid plans lol. (in fact I think they always did.)

Is this a coincidence, deja vu or...?

What do these 3 have in common? A lot more than you think ;)

First of all, I hate coincidence. Second of all, irony always likes to bite me in the grass. Third.... I know I did not see this coming, but it sure is (creepy?) hilarious. Let's look into it.

First off a little rundown of what RE: the controversy is. RE: the controversy is my reply to controversy regarding a topic that springs up in a series, whether by me or by what others' interpretation of a particular scene in an Anime. I then poke fun at it in the form of these (usually) 4koma-like set of screenshots subtitled by my over-the-top zany imagination. The result varies per individual (usually in the form of laughs)

So, the biggest hit of my Spring 2011 4koma joke subs (or trollsubs, as a fellow Animesuki member put it), was Dog Days, specifically this one that pokes fun at the relationship between Millimeter and the Hero. For Summer 2011, I started things with this one, the most popular one that season, again poking fun at the relationship between the lead male and (arguably *cough*) the lead female of the series Ro-Kyu-Bu. And then of course for Fall 2011 there is the recent Guilty Crown one, which proves to be my biggest hit in terms of total enjoyment by readers at 3 different websites I posted it. Again, I poked fun at the lead male and lead female's relationship. Now what makes all this so hilarious? You might have figured it out by now, but here we go:

1. All 3 series feature a lead female with Pink Hair.
2. Two of the girls are great singers, while the 3rd girl is a great ball handler....with a niiice voice :)
3. All 3 girls are deeply involved with the lead male in question.
4. All 3 girls are.... not the best in breast size in their respective series.(I didn't call them flat!!)
5. All 3 girls have some form of ribbon hair accessory tied onto their heads.
6. All 3 girls were "hurt" by the male protagonists in my joke subs.
7. For the male characters, all 3 have hair that begins with a b (1 blonde, 2 browns)
8. All 3 of the lead males are referred to with names beginning with the letter "S", with Sink, Subaru and Shu (technically, Dog Days' "Sink" is officially called "Cinque", but pronounciation-wise it's "si-" instead of "ke-", and no one I've seen online referred to him as Cinque, and fansubbers stubbornly stuck with their "Shinku" lol)
9. Finally, I gave Bad Endings to all 3 male protagonists. NO SURVIVORS LOL.

I swear I did not plan all of this, heck I originally did not plan to watch Guilty Crown if it weren't for a certain mod's posting of the Nyantype/Megami posters (before the Fall 2011 began, the poster with Ponytail and catgirl in bodysuits). Now how's that for a deja vu filled coincidental irony? XD

Now I feel like looking up all of next season's anime and see which one of my watchlist involves a pink haired girl. I've hurt them enough XD

Playing today's Anime on a low-end Windows Laptop

Whoa, isn't that pixelized. How do we fix that? Read on to find out!

Having recently helped a fellow Animesuki Forum member regarding playback of today's anime with a low end laptop, I figured it's time I shared the setup. First, we'll need a few things here. Note that I'm currently on XP so chances are everything might not go the same way, but I did these exact same things on Win7 when I used it so I'm sure it'll work with OS's higher than XP. A 64Bit OS might not work at all, unless the 32Bit versions of these files are used. I should also mention that if you have any codec packs installed, you'll need to remove those. Personally I was never fond of those.

My Specs. That's 1GB of RAM, Intel GMA 965 x3100 graphics.

First we'll need:
-FFDshow, files with the newest date (Note than a 64Bit OS can still use the 32Bit FFdshow because we'll be using the 32Bit MPC)
-Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 (Yeah I'm using the old one :D, so any MPC better than that should work too, including Home Cinema. By the way, since I'm on XP, I use Media Player 6 as well, yes the very old one, for smoother playback XD)
-Haali Media Splitter.
-These files. (just in case, but inside are my FFDshow settings)

-So, first off, we'll install FFDshow, and then Haali media splitter.
-Maybe those newest FFDshow files took care of this(I'm still using Rev 3996 October 14, 2011), but you might need to extract the 3 .ax files in my Codec Essential's RaR file into "\Windows\System32\", and then go to Start Menu->Run, and type "regsvr32 mpegsplitter.ax" (without quotes, again this is a 32bit setting so 64bit might be different). These help if you've got no video/audio when playing a file.
-Run the "ffdshow.reg" in my Codec Essentials, although since I'm using an older FFDshow that might not work :(, so here's how to do it manually:
-Let's configure FFDshow, because this is important. When you open the FFDshow Video Decoder Configuration, select "codecs" on the left panel, and on the right side select H.264/AVC, make the decoder "libavcodec" and look blow this part and you'll see a checkbox that says "skip deblocking always", and make sure it's checked.
-On the left panel, select "Decoder Options", and make sure it looks as follows:

-This is important: On the left hand side, scroll down to "Output", and make sure you're settings are as follows:

-Then, go to the "RGB Conversion" on the left panel, and make it as follows:

-We're done with FFDshow, onto configure MPC.
-In MPC, make the settings as follows:

(I use "VMR7 Renderless" because I'm a screen capper, you can use "VMR7 Windowed" if you're a non-screen capper)

That's just about it. If you've got Intel Graphics, it might help to disable any sort of video playback enhancement your software has. Due to some screw-up between Intel and Sony, I'm using an incompatible driver set, so I'm sure these settings should work independent of video drivers. I have tested files from a number of fansub groups, so I know it's not isolated to just one group or encoder (unless all these groups outsource their encoding to a freelance third party like we used to back when I was a translator). I've been using FFDshow since I shunned CCCP back in 2006, and back then this configuration was able to play 720p video on my 2005 model solo-core 1.6Ghz laptop. Even better is that playing Quicktime Trailers from Apple Trailers also works with this setup without even installing Quicktime, and playback of Real Media files is also possible without RealAlternative. That's not all, if you use MPC Home Cinema, you can play back .flv Adobe Flash files (might need to install the ActiveX Flash Plugin, use Internet Explorer to install, not Firefox or other browsers). Post comments to let me know how this all works out

I admit, I can't help but laugh at the articles and blog posts online that do a deep analysis about why Infinite Stratos sells so much. I say Screw It, it's all about the girls, plain and simple english XD

Seriously, it's not often we get a series with mecha girls, and not to mention getting an OVA like this, with the girls in casual outfits? Look at Laura, wearing a party dress or something lol. Shirley looks like she just stepped out of a high class all-girls school, and Rinny looks like the weather is cold out lol, but I'm all for Houki and her sleeveless dress shirt, miniskirt ZZZZZZZZettai Ryouiki combo XD

What does the above picture mean? It could mean that there are fans of Ichika's and Banager's voice actor, or you know.... mecha fans. Analyze that!

Not bad, eh? #11 in Anime category, and #35 in DVD's in general, I'd say Infinite Stratos is doing quite well.... 1 year later without some Madoka airing. Analy-.... never mind.

-Sad fact: I've yet to see a single BluRay/DVD version episode of the TV series. Now where's that box cutter.... XD

Q & A with mangatron: Big ones, Small ones, and any in-between?

The post title is a joke from the Full Metal Panic manga, specifically the second one. I believe its volume 03, when Sousuke worked in a video rental store. I bought that manga in a US Army base bookstore back in 2006 when I returned to Germany, hence why it's rather special to me. Except for the part where I left it in Germany.

If you read my last post, you'll find I'm in favor of small, sporadic posts instead of once-a-blue-moon big posts, and to continue that, there are much questions going about that my PM inbox at the Animesuki forums cannot contain. Seriously, I have to empty that almost twice a season XD So today I'm going to tackle a question that has arisen a number of times the past 3 seasons: Who is that girl in your avatar?

Q: Okay, it's been going on for awhile, but why the bouncy avatars?

A: It's a fairly recent thing. I'm not really known for it, but as usual something happened and it ended up being a habit. It all started with the Anime version of Astarotte's Toy, and Lotte's well endowed mother. Specifically, episode 05. And I made it no secret my love for my Queen, but I had the fun idea to take it a step further by placing her in my avatar, perhaps a first for a mature woman such as her XD

Of course, it made a heavy impact: at the time, my "lolitron" nickname was as prevalent as ever, then all of a sudden a bouncy woman resides in my avatar space? Shortly afterwards, I never failed to receive a PM/visitor message about "Who is the girl(yes she has been called a girl) in your avatar" during this time, and I thought "Oh, there's not many viewers for this show, maybe I can recommend a lot to it" and I proceeded to pounce on any chance I can get to animate her screen time.

From that point, I have had a "big" avatar since. If there wasn't a new pair of big ones that week, the avatar remained. The best part: I have had so many PM's about questions of what series my avatar came from, and I have directed them to the appropriate thread, thus making them watch a series they never would have had it not been for my avatar. Thus, the story of my bouncy avatars, why I continue to use them, and why it remains the #1 PM I get XD

Just some of the avatars I'm responsible for since Spring 2011:

This one deserves special mention. My favorite, one that lasted for almost a month, and the most controversial avatar I have used that brought smiles and a headache to mods and regular members alike, which was also responsible for making me clean out my PM inbox twice: R-15's Chief-chan.

Up next, is... actually, I think I should finish that tutorial first. I was also hoping to resume 7DA afterwards.

A little update

Usami finally reveals her pantsu in the disc release for Mayo Chiki!

I think I've been here before. The part where I thought small, quick posts were a lot better than dead silence. And that's why I'm writing this post on the last day of November to inform those 600+ readers that have come by the past several weeks. First off, November has been a very unhealthy month for me. You might recall that Charlotte Dunois photoshop in the early weeks of this month. That job cost me in several ways, including days of writhing pain in my right wrist, which led to me frequently using a cast/splint more often, as well as repairing my Trackball mouse I half destroyed almost a year ago for use once again, and completely ditching the conventional mouse altogether. Ah, both good things and bad things never happen by themselves, and not long afterwards, real life comes back into my life, and that's where we're at the final weeks of November, where that second-hand smoke incident earlier in the year happened again (old man neighbor continues to smoke despite suggestions he stop), resulting in the past 5 days with me continuously inhaling menthol 24/7, something one might also know as aromatherapy.

I've had free time to watch about half my Fall 2011 Anime list, why not the rest of that on forums and my blog and what not? I do also participate in XDA-developers ROM cooking duties, and this is the main part of my update that I felt should be shared. My time on XDA-devs is important, and not just for me, for others too who depend on the skills I utilize as a ROM Chef. Why not share that knowledge so others can take up the slack? Sure, I did, my work has brought in 2 Chef's, but those ended up being basic ROMs, with bugs no less, and it ends up as there's something only I can do, which for some reason no one else does, and instead they look to me, the godfather of this line of phones. You know that feeling you get when you have a good idea, and try to do it?

I never try to think about what to do if I fail, but this is one of those many situations where I also cared not to think of the consequences of when I succeeded, and the impending expectations others place on you. But with blog post drafts piling up, time does not smile upon me, and if my health gets the better of me, my time may run out before I know it.

What a strange month of October. Bad health, self-inflicted partition errors, Qaddafi bites the dust, not to mention I am so in love with the Fall 2011 anime season. But, this post was meant to be a minor update on one of the changes to my blog, and I'd like to announce the new plan in regards to posting certain things: Wordpress will be the more extremely perverted side of things. A lot of this mostly revolves around stuff relating to 18+ stuff that's not appropriate for my blog here, which I want to avoid the Adult content rating as much as possible for Blogger. According to my observations of Wordpress-based hentai doujin scanlator teams, it seems one does not need to engage in that extra step of "you are about to enter a mature site" thing Blogger has, supposing you do make an 18+ blog.

I know it seems like a weird decision, but consider this an evaluation for myself: can I completely move to Wordpress, or can I not live without Blogger? I have a lot of fun memories here, while Wordpress.... looks awfully plain. Maybe that's where its strength lies...

Really, I so wanted to see more of the twintail laying the smack down on the lying....never mind.

I wonder how readers would have reacted had Jin-ho done the hitting...

In order to prevent myself from going sane, I had to play my "INSANE" playlist during the making of this manga parody, which includes Dance, Funk, Electronic honky tonk, songs with vocals and Ani songs and even The a La Menthe, Noisia's Machine Gun, and Track #2 from the Free Bulletstorm OST.

Some info, and jokes if they don't make sense:

-Hmm... where do I start. I was chewing some gum for 2 hours, and then found the time to work on this parody, and apparently continued chewing the gum....
-Something more meaningful, some of you might remember that my memory is extremely good, so finding what panels to use wasn't so hard. What was hard is the standard page size layout that I use for the "RE: the controversy" Anime trollsubs (which you can see by clicking the tag), which basically means fitting an acceptable amount of panels within the page size. You can see some empty space in the early pages, which is a result of lack of panels to at least support his change of attire.
-Which is my favorite edit? I have to admit, I'm not the kind of guy who likes to hit girls, but the "torture" scene was easily my most hilarious one, which helps Twintail-chan was doing the beating and not Jin-ho. Of course the hilarious part about it was how easy it was to find a shot of Jin-ho at that angle. Believe me when I saw this, Im Dal Young's manga will have this same exact angle for the most of the manga/manwha.
-Yeah, what I'm going to update later on, in short, during the days of Oct 16-24, my laptop suffered a multiple partition failure (I like to set up 2 or more partitions to separate OS from FILES) after I moved partitions off their designated sector area. Long story short, my lappy is back on XP, RAM downgraded to 1GB, and.... life goes on :P
-This is actually my second manga edit, which the first one was for Kimi No Iru Machi.
-Yeah, I simply added a "d" to the title. totally a parody, ja?
-Honestly, in no way is this to be a snide shot at Im Dal Young. I'm not going to lie, I found his works entertaining....to some degree. There is the eventual hiccup in storytelling, or the rage that follows after reading the newest chapter, but.... I can't help but think of the "what if's". I would like to meet the guy, or maybe even a conference chat, to see the clashing of these minds :D. It would be even better if he could read this parody.
-And uh.... buy the manga/manwha if you like it. Or wait....XD

Mashiro-iro Symphony episode 01

She's happy about something. Well it can't be because she's lost... but wait, she's happy that her oniichan can find her anytime, anywhere. So... AKA she's happy to get lost? :P

My Fall 2011 lineup seems to be full of surprises. To me anyways, as... I basically had prior knowledge of only 3 series for Fall (that is not a sequel), so I consider this season so much more enjoyable due to the way I anticipate new episodes with much fervor.

Back to this series though, I'm going to have to forego a detailed look into the first half, as it was practically 2 siblings who could have used a GPS :P

No seriously, look at the pic. Why in this blue clean world did the imouto hide out of line-of-sight? Never mind the niichan telling her to stay put, but if someone is looking for you, you don't hide, do you? It wasn't even raining then lol...

Not that I have a beef with that scene, as I guess this first half was to setup this season's second blondish Sena-chan. Well I think she's blonde... the colors in this series is unique, at least compared to the shiny stuff this season. And I like it, soothes my eyes, and the series is not an action series, so this calm relaxing slice of life fits my bill.

The ep ends on a rather cliffhangerish note, though. How could a girl be so happy in one moment, and then so... tsun in the next. Ah... at least we get a nice ponytail I love the way she looks like she has cat girls if you look at her straight on.

Well ain't that funny. You've practically got the whole cast in that there shot, minus the girl with the.... weird ball animal.

Ben-to episode 01

One look at this photo, and the average viewer nowadays screams "Harem!". So sad. First of all, the loli clearly loves her meatball, the blonde with big ones is simply trying to give a face massage to the guy with her boobies, the silver haired beauty is posing for a gravure shoot, and the 2 girls on the right are so in their own little world... all of this on a single serving of food.

Ah, Bento. I don't think I've ever eaten such a thing before... if it was an already prepared food, it'd be from the Deli (not necessarily already packed for you.). That is somewhat the main reason why I just didn't know how a series would be like for these characters to fight over food, but then again, this is Japan, and Bento's are a regular item in stores.

But they aren't so regular when they are regularly priced. Once they get marked down to clear stock, that's when the fight (and fun) begins, and what this series has going for it in terms of story. A rather entertaining take on a battle series I say, and for a very good reason. Looking at the original prices they go as high as USD $5.00, which I know some would simply get a much cheaper (and less healthy) meal at Mc D's.

Asebi Inoue, perhaps the resident loli of this series. Voiced by a great tsundere voice actress (no not that one)

This is also a series where the male lead isn't a romcom invincible punching bag, as we see he did go to the hospital and he did sustain some sort of injury to the head that although it required a bandage, he can still attend school. You know, school, as in.... gotta use your thinking power. Need to spend some more time in the hospy, dude.

Two girls who are twins, but... according to the main site, they share the same name, Kyo Sawagi.

To wrap up the ep, this male lead (You. No really, that's his name, not yours) tries his luck again at the Bento Wars, but get's kicked by a girl wearing pantyhose. SERIOUSLY, I so want to be kicked by Sen. Never mind the eventual pain of being kicked by the boots, but the legs.... those legs....

Kyoukai Senjou No Horizontal episode 01: nice hairdo!

I just wonder, is my country's language really that good for magic attacks?

Throw this in with one of those that I knew absolutely nothing of prior to airtime. In fact, that Fall 2011 Anime Chart didn't help with it's picture of choice.

Thanks to CrowKenobi, mod extraordinaire at Animesuki, I saw the magazine scans and fell in love with Kimi-chan this series. Though my less than noble reasons are laughable, this episode was quite a fun enough ride that I ended up falling in love with a girl I hadn't seen before (but heard a lot of years ago).

Where's the nose?

First of all, Sensei (Makiko-chan!). Honestly I think she was nicely animated throughout the ep, and she got nice curves too :D As I mentioned earlier her voice was instantly recognizable, which I became a fan of after Mahoraba finished its run. Not to mention she tied her hair into a nice tail there (although I cringed when she cut pieces off lol). Not to mention she knows her stuff and seems smart, definitely my goddess.

Ahem to the actual episode, while I do find it funny that reactions across the web are very much mixed, I guess it is justifiable for first timers who didn't read accompanying descriptions that should have been included wherever the heck they downloaded it from. I honestly understood what I was getting into by reading what was described as a "dictionary sized synopsis", not to mention I hadn't known this was a novel or a manga or a game even, I really thought this was Sunrise pulling something out of their hat. But what's the surprise, novels seem like the new adapation nowadays. Not that I have a problem with that, as I don't read novels, so that gives me a rather fresh anime experience.

I swear she's got rocket boosters in that hair.

Now about the actual ep, I really like the action, if merely because it was centered around Sensei, but it did well enough in my opinion to keep me glued. Of course my bias is due to my enjoyment of the girls in bodysuits, but that's to be expected.

And that grin :)

The other nose-less anime (Code-E) I thought of. The reason why this came to mind was that this aired when my translator days were winding down, and a fellow fansubber I know worked on this series.

C3 episode 01: C3 P.O?

Aside from the Allspark, can someone remind where have I seen a box with a red eye on it before?

I guess that's why it wasn't named Cursed X3. There's only 3 C's on there. But only one of them to Fear. There's nothing to fear.... but Fear itself (or in this case herself). Cool tagline, ja? :P

Going into the Fall 2011 Anime season, this is one of the series I had no prior knowledge about. So I hear this is a novel, like a number of other stuff this season. Man, I missed the days when games and eroge were adapted like crazy. Don't tell me that market fell by the wayside...

She looks like she's in jail. No wonder why she walked out.

Ahem anyways, back to the house which looks like a contender for Extreme Home Makeover after what this Fear did to it, I say this episode started rather well. It didn't start with a monologue'ish speech by the male protagonist about how his life has been or how dull it can ever be. I say the focus of mystery was centered right there on the ~~Allspark~~ Thwomp block he just received.

Vacuum Cleaner Dancing. Girls, to us guys you aren't a chore machine anymore, you're an exotic dancer with a vacuum!

The rest of, or most of the episode shows us Fear-chan's fearless walk into town, and the eventual home makeover. Such a small girl using a lot of force on her actions, I suddenly grabbed my balls with a grimace on my face at the thought of a hentai doujin for this series XD I gotta say I enjoyed this episode, even though I saw most of only 1 girl, as knowing me, I do prefer if there's another girl or two :P

Personally I'm of the opinion that the OP should have been full of shimapanchira dancing like this shot. *ahem* *cough*

As the promotional material goes, you see 3 girls on the posters and such, but episode 01 showed us 2 of them, so hopefully MY PONYTAIL shows up soon, or else I'm going to laugh a laugh of a thousand men if she arrives in episode 05. Seriously, why is fate so cruel to me?

Next ep already shows something serious may be going down. Seriously, ironic that I was finishing up Front Mission recently, I tell you that woman got a Dasler Claw XD

Dog Day's Season 2

See that October 2nd date? lol....

Well, in case you missed it, Dog Days get's a Season 2. What surprises me most of all was that I saw it coming almost 3 weeks ago and just let it slide (of course you saw 2 days later my connection was at its most crappiest and my health took a dive that weekend). As an observer, I am most ashamed.

Boku Wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

I was looking through the main website for the TV adapation of Boku Wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, and I saw that above pic. Of course it drew my attention :P but it was mostly Sena's ~~legs~~ sitting posture that amused me. She brought her knees up on her chair, which according to my astute observations, this is common among girls who are either insecure or absorbed into their current activity. Great use of characterization of the artist in regards to Sena's personality :)

I was perusifying some online stores to see what I missed (no enlarged pic yet of Kanade's dakimakura?), and I saw the HnA merchandise. I bring this up because seriously, I didn't know Battle Mode Jeanne looked so good :D

It's not my fault she had very little screentime in that episode, not to mention underground in a poorly lit environment :P

Easily the worst portrayed girl who was obviously the best girl of Summer 2011 :P

Well, what a typhoon. Flights cancelled, some parts of the city flooded... this time of the year is such a flight risk. But the Summer 2011 Anime season is coming to a close, gee I actually saw a Ika Musume second season ep out already... anyways, what a fun season. Except for idolamAster (which has one ep to go?), I finally finished my checklisted series (though I failed again in per-episode blogging due to my awful connection). But more so than before, this season saw me utilize Photoshop in more ways than I thought I could. Good thing too as I learned quite a few time-saving tricks, as well as hone those skills I grew laxed on over the years.

Another fine point is my poll votes doubled from last season, thanks guys! I wish I had better posts for you guys to read though, but I guess those short and sweet photoshops and what not were good enough. Funny too, as this season saw over 5,000 unique visitors to my blog, again I apologize if there wasn't much to read but it's a good start, ja? Let's see how it went:

Good things:
-Yeah Photoshop! In case you missed it, I went absolutely crazy over Mayo Chiki, some of it amateurish, some of it so real it's hard to tell.
-For once not all of my visitors came from Animesuki, as those photoshop endeavors brought in visitors from elsewhere wherever I posted those photoshops to.
-Thanks for voting on the polls guys! It seems to me there's quite a lot of fans of the big ones eh? This coming from a leg fetish...

The funny part about this poll, Option #2 had like 2 votes. After I posted my Q and A, well, I guess everyone wanted to see Kanade Strip Subaru lol.

Not-so-good things:
-Postponed plans to help translate the Infinite Stratos novel.
-Postponed plans to translate the Hidan no Aria manga.
-Health took a dive early in the season.
-Over the weekend of Sept 24-26, I suffered my first migraine in 2 months. Reason? For almost 3 weeks straight prior, I only got an average 5 hours of sleep (it was usually 4 or less). I may have laughed at sleep, but sooner or later it will catch up to ya...
-Palm Treo 750 fans will find I spent much of September working on the final Version 3.0 ROM. What a way to finally drive a nail into Palm's coffin.

Blog update

Updates ended up being slow again, for once it's not actually about the work I do, and that's because of my Wireless Carrier again. You see, I had trouble accessing a number of sites (AGAIN!), including but not limited to Sankakucomplex (even the Channel), Danbooru, and others. As you might have guessed I upload large images to those sites in case Blogger can't handle it (or if deemed NSFW). Why in the world does Blogger have a 1600 dimension limit on images anyways? Isn't Google a big company already? Either they are hiding the option to un-limit images, or there really is none....

I knew it from the preview that went up on the website, that this was going to be a fun episode. NOT DISAPPOINTED one bit.

How do I describe this ep? Uh, I don't know, other than "watch it yourself" because continuing the trend of starting an episode with a bit from the previous ep, we get a clearer look at Kyohei using Kukuri's left hand.

Of course the best part happens to be any scene with Mahiru, and I mean every scene of her in this ep was truly amazing, both her voice work (which IMO sounds totally NOT like any of her previous works that I've heard), not to mention for once she not only calls Hibino out on her big ones, but she has the pleasure of actually fondling them for herself XD

Mahiru pointed at Hibino about 3 times. Kuuko, where are you? XD

The episode isn't just about her though, Koushirou was hilarious with his "whatever" face when he said Kirio would react that way to a beautiful oneesan. I wonder how his wife deals with this guy XD

Anime needs more adults like him.

Moyako tagging along for the ride, maybe she'll be the referee lol. At least next ep has some solo-tentacle action for Hibino XDDDD

Mayo Chiki! Episode 10

Ah, birthdays. Spending them alone isn't fun, so why not spend it with friends and family. In Kureha's case, it was a good idea to spend it with her friends who aren't any more sane than she is.

In the event Blogger resized this to less than 720p, larger one goes here.

I found it funny, you know, how Kureha spends her birthday at a friends place, and then at a rented public establishment. Usually this sort of thing is done at the subject of the day's home. At least that's how we do it in Germany, but then again, Kureha's still a kid, so she needs to have her fun at a Chuck E. Cheese's type of place XD

I love ~~product~~ series placement in Anime.

I gotta hand it to Usami, girl's got cooking skills. At least I don't have to see that cliche here, of a girl who can't cook. My biggest question though, way back in episode 05, after Usami does her swimsuit shopping with Jirou, and she gives off a vibe that she doesn't want to go home so soon... Is that because of the Ringu girl and the 2 Chuckies? Speaking of which, that "The Ring" must have been some movie if it's still parodied to this day. Anyways, is this like Mawaru Penguindrum where they can't see the horror characters, or everyone just chooses to ignore them...

This makes the second series that I can pull a "Lipstick teacher" nickname...

Probably, the best part of the ep is clearly the Birthday song, I tell you I've heard that typical "Happy Birthday" used and abused in this country (where they, for some reason, like to yell "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" all of a sudden as if they are trying to let the whole world know. I note this because in Germany, for the most part we don't sing it at all (or this is something only the older adults do in comparison to a child), so hearing this song in Mayo Chiki, and the different kind of lyrics that was used, really brought a smile to my face, and Kureha is in good company.

Who wants to make a bet a Dakimakura with more skin would sell more than this? XD

Kureha recounting her memories of birthdays past was also fun, as we see just how much Kureha did her Jirou takedown training, which I have to say Kureha is well mannered to pick on someone her own size, at least with the teddy bear, and then as the days gone by I think that bear was her perfect sparring partner as she was able to handle Jirou himself in the years to come. Maybe we can now thank Jirou for actually handing himself that Gynophobia, all thanks to that bear? Hmm....

Look at Jirou's leg. That seriously has to hurt.

Of course the end of the ep, I can't tell who got the last laugh. Kanade, in all her sadistic ways, or Usami, apparently the new character that's easy to poke fun at. I say ever since ep 06, she's been enjoying the company of her new friends so much that they in turn seem to toy with her quite easily, which... would actually make her gullible...

Well, Starchild's preview has not gone up at the time of this post, but TBS' did. According to them, a new term begins, and it looks like Subaru X Jirou moments are now awkward. I thought awkward moments only happened if the 2 fell in love with each other...

Ro-Kyu-Bu character song samples

Ah, Ro-Kyu-Bu. What many call a loli anime, and with this kind of cast, the character CD's ought to be something. Thanks to Animesuki member Konakaga, I was convinced to give the samples a listen. I gotta say I loved every one of them. I had questioned myself how do they make different versions of the OP, as my first prerogative is always "Probably like Strike Witches' Bookmark Song", which was sung the same way by the different voice actresses for that series. But I was surprised the different Ro-Kyu-Bu OP versions were very much different than each other, and you've got different song styles too, Tomoka's up-tempo version, Maho's catchy jazz style, Airi's was relaxing in a soft style, and more. I think out of all the individual character songs, Hina's made me melt so fast, I hadn't realized I had that sample blaring for almost an hour ON LOOP.

Give them a listen here, and don't forget their sales dates if you've melted enough to buy them: Tomoka, Maho and Saki are available now, Hina's arrives in 2 days, and Airi goes gold on the 21st.

Los Angeles, California. I went to bed the previous night thinking the next day would be like any other, but I was awoken by my brother calling me saying "did you hear?" And so I groggily went over to the ol' tube television and saw the towers burning.

Being the cognitive person that I am, the first thing that came to mind: "The world will change forever"

Despite in my opinion that strangely worded sentence (which was in English, not German or any other language), it didn't take long to see how the world will change. I knew the Americans wouldn't take this sitting down, that they wouldn't let it go (at this time I was still involved in Military Strategy), and this was the first time in my life that I saw a country practically stop to a standstill for about a day. It was this event which unfortunately delayed Full Metal Panic, and airport security never was the same again. Due to the massive combat experience of the US Army in the past decade, the Drone Wars truly have just begun. Though many experts and analysts agree that the Drones cannot win a war on their own, it is without a doubt the insurgents in Iraq and Afgahnistan have accelerated the development of UAV's.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this day 10 years ago, to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice: their lives, so that many of us can enjoy the freedom we have today.

I may not have directly been affected by the events on that day, but one assuring thing I know of: Osama Bin Laden did not last 10 years afterwards. I now wonder if Full Metal Panic will rise up in its greatness again. I haven't gotten myself involved in that series since Tessa's Second Raid OVA >__>

You know how I've been slacking in the episode summary part of my blog, mainly due to the horrific connection problems I've had last month, but lately things seem to be okay with my wireless carrier, although they're still a little egg-headed. Anyways, you know how I am about fun stuff, and you'll notice my previous posts, although they are dominated by Mayo Chiki, I've done some fun stuff too like those Dog Day's updates from the main site, and I thought it would be a fun idea to compile noteworthy updates from these Anime official websites into one nice post here. That and... I figured I'd give my readers something to enjoy other than no updates at all XD

First and foremost, the best news I had all (week actually, since I saw this about a week or 2 ago), Dog Days Episode 5.5!

Someone tell me that's an OVA, and not just a Drama CD. This would totally make up for that lack of support-character screen time that happened at the end of the series. Perfect timing too, if you'll recall Episode 05 was when the Princess Millimeter kidnapping incident was resolved, so why not have some fun in the sun as a truce between the countries!

But look at Millimeter. She's pink already, did she have to pick a pink swimsuit? Why not red? No one has red on except Noir's red bows, how about some diversity (since Violet already took black XD)

On other news of previous season Anime, in case you missed it, don't forget about the Hidan no Ari OVA and the Infinite Stratos OVA, as well as that Astarotte's Toy OVA featuring My Queen in all her teenage glory :P Certainly stuff to look forward to in case you didn't mark your calendars.

This scene should be animated.... so that I can see some bounce OH YEAH XD

Mayo Chiki Episode 08, Usami-chan baths!

Ah, how frustrated I was when episode 08 rolled around, and I never got to see Usami-chan bathing. Well, with my overflowing ero-power, I made Usami-chan bath.

I loved this 'shop, mainly because it was such a ridiculously clever use of mind tricks. I make no secret that I've been studying the human psyche, and I decided to utilize some of that in tricking the eyes of what they normally don't perceive. Let's look at how I made this 'shop:

Ah, the original scene. Subaru should have let her hair down :p

Here's a scene from episode 06. Why did I choose this scene? See the time of day? It's sunset, casting a soft orange glow over Usami-chan, giving her an identical coloring as if she was in a softly lit place, such as the hot spring.

Ah, here's where the mind trickery starts. Of course, Usami has her head slightly down, while Subaru has her head up high. That means some of the foilage in the background has been covered by Subaru, and not Usami. So, I'm not going to draw some leaves, so I decided to rip them off the background itself.

Let's put it over Subaru, so that it looks like the foilage was originally there. Looks terrible, ja?

Until the final product of course. As I've mentioned earlier, the mind trick I'm playing on viewers is the fact that the foilage is quite literally just a bunch of leaves, by itself it looks like a bad copy-pasta, but when semi-covered by Usami's face, our perception of the foilage is no longer complete, and instead our brains get the idea that someone is standing in front of the leaves, so they are therefore random to our eyes.

Of course, the joke is, in a picture like this, what's the first thing you look at? The foilage? The rocks? The cute, naked girl that's smiling at you? XD

Q & A with the mangatron is a public service announcement by the mangatron concerning weird things he silently does (usually with his blog). As always, as a wall of text deterrent, this is done interview style, so if you see a question that relates to you, you can simply read that part instead of the entire post :D

Over the past few weeks (perhaps since the start of August) I've had some strange things going on, and with the silence of my personal blog, it only looks even weirder. In this post I will answer questions that surely have arisen in your minds at some point.

Q: First off, wasn't your page hits over 40,000 before? Why is it in the 30's?
A: That is an interesting question I was going to address immediately after fixing that, which I'm sure you've heard of my internet connection woes. In a nutshell, the old Statcounter.com setting (40K hits) was visitor clicks. Funny, I know, which is why I decided to change it to "unique visitors", which is where we're at with the current number (30K+). The reason why I changed it is obvious enough, I've been getting a lot more readers than 2 years ago, and I decided that tracking uniquely instead of clickly was a better way to show the impressive numbers I managed to pull in solely on my antics (as I'm a little slow on the episode summary uptake). And, I prefer "30,000 visitors" instead of the more questionable "40,000 clicks". Sounds better, ja? Not bad having 30K visitors click through my blog 10,000+ times :D

Q: So page hits are unique now. What does that mean to visitors?
A: It basically means that, as long as you allow cookies for "statcounter.com", if someone visits my blog, the counter will go +1. If they click a post to view the full page, the counter won't go up, because the stats only track when the person visited, and not what link they clicked. This is why I added Google's "hits for the last 7 days" to show the traffic that happens the last 7 days, which is a feature which only appeared earlier this year, I believe. Oh, and I activated Statcounter's blocking of tracking my visits, so no matter how many times I try to visit my blog, it won't count me :(

Q: With that out of the way, let's talk about that Summer 2011 poll on the right. What's with the options?
A: It is strange, isn't it? It's not a secret that I think very much more complicated than the average person, and that poll is no exception. 5 choices now instead of last season's poll of 4, I think the one option everyone is thinking about is "Why didn't Kanade remove all of Subaru's clothes?". That option sticks out like a D-cup booby, especially since it breaks my usual "yes" and "no" options I always put. But there's a reason for that option, and surprisingly I know not many people will get the joke behind that. You see, at the start of the Summer 2011 Anime season, there was that scan released of Kanade stripping Subaru, which is the image you see in the above banner. Animesuki member Dahak86 was kind enough to pass me the nude filtered one, which bared Subaru's innermost... beauty XD. Naturally, I used that in the prototype banner testing, which I will give an example below (NSFW):

Why didn't I use that banner? Even though Mizuno's hand performed a perfect "convenient censoring", the color difference between her hand and Subaru's assets is hardly noticeable, and to the average pervert, they see all skin and no censor lol. So to avoid my blog being labeled as an adult site, I decided against using the banner. I know, tough choice, life's full of them, but ultimately it's all about the boobies, isn't it? If you want that banner up there, why not spam this post with your comments :P (but I can't edit polls once a vote has been cast)

Q: Ha, always the hard way. Let's talk about RE: the controversy, and where are they?
A: This is probably the most noticeable change recently, especially since they're rather popular and fun, yet the last one I did (for Ro-Kyu-Bu) was so long ago. As Animesuki member Malkuth put it, I went from troll-subs to photoshopping. Again, always a mysterious reason to that, and that has a lot to do with: time. Doing my troll sub series of humor isn't hard, well, some may find thinking up that insanity impossible for the normal mind, but the troll subs become hard when I edit the scenes rather heavily. As evidenced by the last Dog Day's jokes, that took a lot longer to edit than I thought. Meaning I apparently became lax with my Photoshopping skills. So over the past few weeks I've been working that skill, seeing how many minutes/hours it will take to perform various levels of editing in various resolutions. For RE: the controversy, you will notice I make each frame 480x272, which is because I wanted to make it easier to edit the details. The larger the image, the more refined the details have to be to be convincing, and that's what the past few weeks have been, as you can see my Mayo Chiki endeavors, there are varying levels of resolutions and quality of the 'shops. Take for example the hilarious uncensoring of Mayo Chiki ep 05 that I did, in the order that you see them, I went with 'quick', 'complex', and 'full edit', and my opinion is clear as day that 'full edit' was my most favorite 'shop of those 3 (Usami's high-jump). I seemed fine with a smaller resolution, but enter that Kanade filtering I did, which shows I need to work more on the rush strokes, especially when the res gets higher.

As you can see, the reason behind my erratic level of skill is primarily the bad combo of bad-wrist + travel-mouse. I've used trackball mice for 10 years, having experienced 4 of them (3 different designs), and due to the injury on my wrist I have to use a conventional mouse for everything computing. It's no doubt I was much better with a trackball than I am with this tiny mouse that's barely 3 inches long, and the photoshopping I've been doing for this month of August is about me not running away from the pain, and training myself to work those skills again.

Q: But it's not just the 'shopping. You've been rather hyper the past few weeks.
A: Well, I always am, but yes this month there's a reason for that too. I mentioned it earlier at Animesuki (I think it was the Ro-Kyu-Bu thread) that my health has been acting up again, and I had to apply external remedies to ensure I don't fall into a fever like last time. That included treatment for migraines and headaches, and inhaling menthol to cool my lungs. I'm sure everyone's aware that a person on meds is a... rather edgy person, but the mangatron on meds = hyper waifu lovin maniac. That is definitely the reason behind the sudden shift in hilarity in the Ro-Kyu-Bu thread, but I'm clear off the meds now so don't go expecting me to do more of this again :P

Q: A song you keep singing lately is "My connection Sucks", how bad is it?
A: Terrible. Atrocious to say the least, last Thursday there was a network-wide downtime of their internet from around 7PM till after midnight, and then that Saturday it was more like Saturd-day, and then Sunday, it was so unusable I said forget it, wait till Monday, but cheeze whiz they totally funked my subscription plan and now I can't even browse, despite having more than an hour remaining in my subscription plan. Just to be sure, I fired up another SIM card and what do ya know, it works, so I know they conned me out of my other SIM card. But that was just last week. I've been singing this song for months now, one just needs to search online to see how bad this country (PH) is when it comes to cellular service:
This is just one of the many horror stories of the other wireless carrier in this country.
Two days ago, I hit this data cap, and this is the part where they failed to lift it even though it's well past a full day already.
They have a 4G network? Fix your freakin 3G/Edge/GPRS first you morons.
See the date of this post? It's still like this for Smart and sometimes Globe.

That's not really all there is, since most of these sites are in a language I cannot understand, and the Philippine Undernet (yeah seriously, there are forums dedicated to sidestepping wireless carrier restrictions) is entirely in their language and they blocked out foreigner registrations. Funny country this is.

Q: Something else that's weird, and that's your episode summaries. You seem to start at ep 01, and then fall back completely.
A: That's something I can attribute to my internet connection. I'm sure you'll know how bad it is to upload a few pictures, and then getting that darn gateway timeout will just make you wonder "is it done uploading yet?" And to compound the problem, the more acceptable internet data plan is time based, meaning you just wasted precious time there. There is still the 800MB up AND down daily data limit, meaning even if you choose their "unlimited" data plan (I know, the irony), you still wasted TIME "UPLOADING" something that ended up becoming useless. I do some work over at the XDA-Developers forum, and 4 out of 5 times I get my ROM uploads cut off. The same holds true when downloading anime, you have no idea how idiotic it is getting your download (a 300MB file) get cut off at 98%. That sets me back several days when viewing Anime (for example, I have a 4-5 day delay when watching idolmAster, from it's airdate to my eyes). Of course, there are other things like generally visiting any site out there, program updates (I didn't update my anti-virus for over a month ~__~), pretty much the entirety of browsing is totally messed up. I've made mentions already that I cannot use the other 2 wireless carriers in this country, one has poor signal and the worst rated internet, the other has too much of a throttled service. Picked my poison, but even the citizens of this country agrees; the internet in this country sucks.

Ah, this time I didn't waste a full 5 hour non-stop session for this. Instead, I tried to go for "whenever-I-have-free-time", and unlike my previous photoshop job, I tried to do a minimal amount of brush strokes, and instead single click most of the edited parts (seriously). Like, seriously? Really? It looks really funny:

I wish Photoshop can record your stats like how many times you click in the program, or tool usage ratio's (does it? ~__~), but it didn't turn out too bad, eh? Granted, the resolution is much too small for it to be fun, but hey, at least those SAMPLE's are out of the way :D

Mayo Chiki! episode 06: the mangatron's eyes pierce the clothing

Topic of the day seems to be Subaru's chinadress, but not of the dress itself but her cleavage

. I've mentioned it before, and pretty much made up my mind, no matter how real them boobie's look, these characters aren't going to see it that way. Something an episode of Columbo taught me, and that's because of the subliminal poisoning these characters have concerning Subaru's gender.

To break it down simply, my theory is that everyone in that school first saw Subaru as a boy. There has been no hint whatsoever as to Subaru being a girl before the Jirou Encounter. Remember that Subaru and Kanade have only started highschool, meaning they did not give this school a peek into Subaru's growing up years prior. So in everyone's mind, Subaru is a boy, dresses like a butler, and is further fed these facts by Kanade herself, adding credence to the whole facade. If I'm remembering this correctly (lol) the S4 didn't split into that Committee until after the Jirou Encounter, which shows everyone still consider Subaru male because well, this Jirou came out of nowhere and it's mighty impossible to considering him credible evidence that Subaru is a girl when all this time (almost 2 years) they were fed more "acceptable" evidence that Subaru is male. Subliminal indeed, or maybe I'm thinking too much and should accept this gaff in the storytelling as comedy and should accept it as such

I'm rather disappointed in Narumi's introduction. I wait 5 (6) weeks to see those purrty legs again, and she spent a significant portion of her screen time covering up those legs. What. The. Flippin' heck. And everybody seems fine with her existence. Next ep better redeem the "best parts" about Narumi

Ahem, what am I blabbering about. This is an Usami-chan episode! Or least I thought. I know some of you have some distaste for the story, and like I mentioned above it's a bit of a trek for me as I was hoping for more insight into Usami-chan's story and her home, but we barely got some of that, so I rather prefer enjoying the characters more than anything. Take for example Usami-chan (surprise!). Remember back in ep 05 (yeah like I would forget) when Usami didn't like it when Jirou called her 'Usamin'? We see it here when they went to the Animal Cafe why she doesn't like that, and that's apparently because Kureha has been calling her that for awhile, and when Jirou called her that there must have been some hidden shock inside Usami that the Sakamachi siblings were so nonchalant in being friendly with her, and it's this openness that Usami later explained why she was jealous of Kureha. Of course by the end of the ep we see Jirou's openness to Usami gave him a step above Kureha's friend making skills, and it's this tiny attention to detail that makes me love (Usami) the characterization in this series more so than any annoyance I have with the story

And the next episode. THE NEXT EPISODE. I'm having this conspiracy theory. Ro-Kyu-bu has it's ep 07 airing next week instead of today, Mayo Chiki caught up to ep 06 as well, and then there was that pic recently posted in the RoKyuBu thread of the loli's at the beach, and now next week Mayo Chiki goes to the beach. Could we be in for a very beach'y weekend next week? I hope so!

The best sight of Suzutsuki Kanade you will ever see

Yeah, I finally did it. Remember that eyecatch back in ep 03, the pool episode? Well, I removed that balloon logo to reveal the butt we all know and... would have loved if that logo hadn't been there in the first place! lol

Interesting facts:

-I had to redraw the entire area that the logo covered. (No vector!)
-You can see here the same problem I had with the Usami uncensoring I did the other day: due to the injury on my right hand, I'm unable to guide the brush as smoothly as I used to. It could be due to the mouse, but I think it has a lot to do with my index finger's inability to act in unison with the rest of my hand (remember aside from the wrist injury, this hand had an American Football injury, broken ring finger), because I seemed to be able to draw better using just my right hand to guide the mouse and my left hand on the trackpad on my laptop to handle the left clicking (because whenever I press the left mouse button on my mouse, my index finger semi-paralyzes the rest of my hand). But my lappy is giving up on that left mouse button, making the whole thing uncomfortable.
-It's no doubt I loved what I was doing, but if you were to ask me what I hated most of all, it was redrawing her hair. It needed a more smoother control on the brush than her bum did, and it definitly took up the most of the 5-hour time it took for me to do this. The other part I didn't like? Doctoring a photo, when I find more enjoyment creating my own art or fan art instead.
-Yes, it would have been better to draw with a tablet, yes I should have used my Pocket PC's, but in the end, I just wanted to do the hard part, and vector guys can do the rest ;)
-I did the unthinkable of cancelling work for the day to fix this girl. Those of you in the work force, don't you ever do that: pass up work just to look at an anime girl's butt XD
-This is the longest I ever spent working on a pic without stopping. My music playlist was driving me nuts, so I had to go back and throw in all the old favorites and just let it play lol.
-If you are wondering about the weird placement of her right hand, remember that she was sitting on the logo, with her right hand placed on top of it.

Of course, the appropriate wallpapers. Unfortunately, I never got myself to make it a more common 1280x800... which is mostly due to the background also being 720p. I guess aspiring wallpaper makers can go right ahead and have fun, just prepare to be pissed off by the cut off ribbon at the top XD

This filter seem more in line with the Anime style. As you can see though the strand of hair is gone, mostly because I had a really crappy screenshot of the 720p version (deleted the uncompressed source -_-).

I'd let her sit on me anytime ;)

Edit: just found out there was already one. There goes my 5 hours, man it sucks having a bad connection and not being able to browse freely -___-

This from the trailer alone, is this the new scheme? I know I tried to make my top banner something to look at, but this should be a first for the Impossible movies. In the first movie, it was just basically 1 girl, but even she wasn't much of an impact on the movie. The 2nd movie, was also just 1 girl, who seemed more like a bond girl to me than just a girl caught up in that mission. The 3rd movie had more than just 1 girl, which may have started this trend. Maybe they figured enough with just 1 girl. let's add more.

Oh, and there was that small audience reaction to the Eminem music in the US trailer, so I suggest you see the Japanese trailer to see why. I have to say the Japanese trailer tries to sell me a Mission Impossible movie, while the US trailer looks like just another action movie.

A: She holds a special place in my ~~dreams~~ heart. You might have heard already, but it was that Fall 2009 season where I made my on-time return to Anime viewing, and for such a grand adventure, I really wanted to absorb the series with the cutest girls. Hey, any Infinite Stratos viewers out there? Looks like Clarinet girl went to the same twilight zone as Ichika lol.

Ok, this be the second Anime I've seen this season that defies the Laws of Physics. First of all, we have the guy being all heroic and trying to... defend against a missile.

Forget the absurdity of that, what is important is that he's facing the missile, and let's round it off to him having his back to her. Now, the explosion dictates that objects in contention with the force must be blown backwards.

Now, looking at the bench, it suffered a terrible blow straight down the middle, meaning that girl should be particles in the wind. Even so, the explosion would have blown her up and over the bench, over the plateau, and down the cliff. Yet, we see him on top, her simply having rolled down off the bench, and despite the fairly intact clothes of the two, the poor bench suffered critical damage. I have now just typed this whole thing for nothing.

Hopefully Sadistic Chief-chan will continue to have more screen time, I admit she'll be the driving force behind my will to watch this series.

idolmAster episode 01: FPS anime

My waifu. Look at those legs!

Ah, idolmAster. Everytime I think of an iMaster anime, I always remember Xenoglossia... if that's how it's spelled lol. Really, back when that Xenoglossia came out, it struck me as odd, I was expecting something more like what we have now for Summer 2011.

And I don't mind more of this kind of first person Anime style for iMaster. It's fun, I'll tell you that much. Life at the office is so lively with this many girls, and what, before producer-san arrived, there was only 1 male? President-san was a lucky guy XD

Oh, and this made me laugh:

I don't need to explain, right? Because I'd love to show her something I have that changes as it gets bigger :P

And I seriously want to be Hibiki's hamtaro. I love that girl, she's got nice proportions, not too big up there, purrty legs, and a ponytail. MY WAIFU. Not saying I don't like Miki's big ones :D Anyways at the end of the ep, producer-san is no longer a faceless fellow. All those iMaster doujins made me laugh too, at how we the reader was supposed to be him. Oh, and the dancing credits, ah a good reason to watch the credits for every ep, let's see if I can do that.

Mayonnaise Chicken Episode 01

Makes me wonder if I ever tasted chicken dipped in mayonnaise. Aside from a chicken burger anyways...

But I totally got the MM! vibes from this, mainly of the guy getting beat by the girls. And really, that's such an obvious pairing right there, a girl dressing up as a boy, what a perfect medicine for a guy afraid of girls. Where have I seen that before... amusing that they called him a chicken, considering I already decided on that.

I still enjoy this series though, my M tendencies aside, as the girls are so purrty (Subaru in hair down girl uniform mode). I am hereby awestruck by Narumi. May the world know this day that the mangatron hath fallen for Yukikaze all over again XD NARUMI IS MY WAIFU AWHOOOOO NICE BIG EARS

Yes, I have not read the manga. Yes, that is an egg head decision and yes, I don't think I will read it until the series finishes airing lol....

Love that girl is a column by the mangatron where he talks about all the things he likes about a particular girl. Infinite Stratos' Houki gets looked at in this interview of the mangatron.

Q: Well what have we here?

A: It's no secret I'm a big fan of Houki, but my love for her isn't so shallow just because she's a lead girl, or a ponytail, or a tsundere. There's more to her, and this probably isn't just about her, but her character type.

Q: Okay, let's see if we got this right. You like her because she's a ponytail, a tsundere, has a green ribbon early on, and that lovely Voice Actress of hers. Did we miss something?

A: Yeah, apparently this has a lot to do with her tsundere character type. Maybe it's unique to her, but it's undeniable tsundere's are generally like this: they show a lot of emotion. Houki really put it on throughout the series, which was also one of the driving reasons for me to watch that series to the end. I like to call her the "Incomparable girl of I.S.", for a good reason: she quite literally displays nearly all the emotions a human can have. Let me go in-depth. (note: I may have studied human psychology, but I care not to go scientific in terms, but rather call it how you see her)

Happiness: yes, this girl born with a face that she thinks is normal for an irate person, Houki has a smile on her face sometimes.... sadly, it's mostly at the expense of a certain guy. One reason why I wouldn't mind shipping Shirley and the guy, if only so I can have Houki to myself XD

She's happy she has power. Now, she has to watch Captain America come Jully 22nd on why that power is so important...

Sadness: Well, it's fair to say that everyone on planet earth has been sad at least during one point in their life. I'm not going to go into my life, but Houki does get sad too. Sadly enough, it's easy to say she won't show this emotion to anyone else besides that certain guy...

I wished he hadn't woken up, so that I could have her to myself...

Anger: Oh this is easy. Occasionally tossed into the "tsun" part of tsundere, Houki seems to get angry quite easily. Of course, it's not so difficult to see who's the source of her anger, most of the time.

Laughter: Laughter is the best medicine, or however that saying goes. I believe it too, and so does Houki. Well, it wasn't like she was sick or something, but yeah, surprisingly enough, she did laugh at least once (episode 02).

No, she's not using a vibr- *get's kicked in the gut*

Concern: Ah, I love it when a girl is concerned about me. Shows she cares enough to spend her time thinking about the guy, oh no here we go it's that certain guy again...

I love it when a girl plays with her hair.

Embarrassment: I love this part about girls, and maybe that's why a lot of romance stories has the guy "bullying" the girl he likes (some kind of stereotype or something, the same way a girl beats on the guy she likes). I'm not saying I've done that to girls before... er, another nice part of tsundere's of late is that transition of Anger-Embarressment-Violence, something I enjoy seeing, which... probably has a lot to do with my M tendencies...

What is she hiding? I must see it!

Tired of Life: I'm probably venturing way off course here, or maybe I've got a screw loose somewhere, but yeah, even Houki has had her moment of despair. That part where Novalogic games had the hilarious suicide notification if a player frags themselves, or something right...

Houki aint Houki with no ponytail!

Tears of Tia-.. never mind: See, this is why I love tsundere's. Emo much? But that's what makes them so human; the various emotions, if written properly, can give the character a very strong place in the hearts of readers/viewers, and Houki has shed tears. I can see it now, when she and I do it for the first time, and- *gets an Akatsuki blade to the head*

Cry me a river Houki, if I have hurt thee, allow me to take responsibility...

As you can see, aside from basic stuff of her, like her sharpness of her voice, or surprise, or her cold shoulders, Houki has displayed quite a bit of emotion, making her quite believable in a lot of senses, and probably why the tsundere is so common these days, because really, would a girl like her show these kind of emotions to anyone besides her love interest? We got the picture that Houki was a cold person once Ichi left her life, and she kind of opened up when the guy came back in.

Q: Wow, the reason why other types of girls can't compare to tsundere's, eh?

A: Yes. Say for example the deadpan type of girl. Could you recall a time when they laughed in a non-smirking manner? What about the happy go lucky airhead? Ever seen her get really angry? Or the serious girl, one who hardly moves those facial muscles. Let's look at Cecilia. Can you ever see this girl as angry as Houki? Or Shirley even. Much less Laura, who you won't always see her happy or crying (maybe that's because she so soldier...) This is why I'm not too pleased with some viewers these days who don't like tsundere's, either they've been spoiled or they just can't seem to appreciate what a tsundere brings to the table, this of course supposing the tsundere was written well enough.

Q: Do you think Houki was portrayed well in the Anime?

A: Well, as of this moment I still have not read the novel parts of what the Anime covered, so I cannot give a fair assessment, especially since I consider the novel Houki to be the more accurate portrayal that the author intended. So basing an opinion of her character is something I cannot do 100%, as I may have enjoyed the Anime Houki, but that's only half the story, ja.

Q: So obviously, we covered why you like the tsundere side of Houki: because of her various emotions. That can't be all, right?

A: Sure, there's more. There was something amusing about Houki that some viewers found entertaining, such as Houki's various faces. I may have listed the emotions she employed, but she had the face to go with those emotions too. This is why the tsundere isn't such a one sided character, as they usually have a lot of emotion on their face too.

Look at those two, they were made for each other, with matching faces and all that!

Q: It's no surprise though, that you're a big fan of her regular face.

A: Oh yeah, I love a scowling girl. It fills my mind with thoughts, you know, like what is she thinking? Is she mad at me? Did I do something wrong? And then there it is, the part about a tsundere that is also enjoyable: seeing her angry or so, is paying the price to finally see that deredere of her. And in my opinion, that's one of the reasons why I love tsundere's; of course, if written properly, going through their tsuntsun and then being rewarded with their deredere, is a really fun experience to me. Of course, I can't say that's something one should do in real life...

Some examples of scowling girls with tsundere'ish tendencies

Q: You wanted to say something about her hair?

A: Of course, I love ponytails. But Houki's got that, which branches into twintails. The first girl I can remember in a long time that brings the best of both worlds!

Q: We haven't seen you this excited for an Anime girl since Hyakka Ryoran's Naoe Kanetsugu.

A: It's probably not so hard to see, but a lot of my enjoyment of an anime goes into the girls. I don't know what it is, maybe I've gotten to the point where I've seen a lot of types of stories, now I kind of make it a more enjoyable viewing experience to see how a certain character goes with that story. My reasons for watching Anime may not be so noble, but I won't deny it, I watch it for the girls 90% of the time. There's also the part where Houki's VA played another Shino, for Seitokai Yakuindomo, another of my favorite series.

Q: You know, originally you were going to make a wall of text while you went Houki ranting. And then you decided to put it in a podcast. What happened?

A: Well that has a lot to do with my health, actually. Around the time when the series was finishing it's broadcast run, I wanted to do a wall of text of these words on why I love Houki. But then I thought maybe my radio show will pick up steam and I can make it a feature for that. Of course, after the series ended, my run in with second hand smoke eventually shelved the idea due to my affected throat, which is why this blog post was done in an interview style because this is actually a transcript of that proposed podcasty thing.

Q: Oh, so it's not a coincidence you decided to post this on her birthday.

A: You know I hate coincidence. What, are you trying to single me out? Put me on the spot? Are yous makin fun ah me?

July update, health stuff and... stuff

Oh well, the jollyness of the days when I did the Dog Days Photoshops
seems to have been short-lived, as I have come across the same stomach
illness over the past week. I'm doing better of course, but a lot of
things I needed to do has once again been backed up, and it's not
helping when this country is giving me an even shittier time. If you
thought my internet was bad, now it's 45KBs-throttled bad. I mean
bloody hell, why in the world are they (Globe) doing this? There was
no warning whatsoever, no advisory, and yet they have to pull this
crap especially when they already have unstable Saturday connections
and DEAD connection Sundays, on top of DEAD zones every day from 9PM
to 11PM-12AM, 504 errors enough for you to doubt the connection
stability, forcing you to disconnect wasting your top up load, not to
mention all this happening.... when they were the "first" network in
this country to... wait for it... roll out their 4G network. Ok. Let
me get this straight. You upgrade your network with the sole intent
for better speeds, and you throttle down everyone (remember, this
isn't just me affected) to dial-up speeds? WHAT... THE... Fudgsicle is
this Keebler....

Ugh, you have no idea how bad it is. Because I sugarcoated the above
passage leaving out this one all important detail: it is 45KB/s SINGLE
STREAM. Uh huh. You read that right. A single connection. Why is this
imortant? Well, you know how web browsers are these days opening up 8
or more connections per website so as to speed up page loading. So
what happens when you visit a ridiculous image laden site like Sankaku
Complex? Well, instead of getting at least 30KBs of each 8 browser
connections, all 8 connections will take a giant dump on your speed
and try to fit all 8 browser connections into the 45KBs limit. That
means if 1 of the 8 connections tries to load a large image at 40KBs,
the webpage will timeout because all the other page elements could not
load their elements in time, which eventually leaves much of the page
with a highly fragmented looking half loaded website. A vampire has it
easy, at least he sucks on purpose. My connection? I wish I can take a
Nerf gun to it and fire a sucking dart at it, but I don't even feel
like it... +2 for me for the double pun of Nerf and Suck :P

It just doesn't look good for this country. Just yesterday there was a
3 hour blackout all because of... dramatic pause... some Aria-killing
thunderstorms. Now I know the power station wasn't hit because whoop
de flogging doo it happened like this several times in the past few
years, and I refuse to believe this country is as incompetent enough
to get hit by lightning everytime it strikes. There's no way someone
can't learn from that...right?

RE: the controversy, FINAL Dog Days Bad Ending

Deep Striker: Dog Days theories and speculation

Deep Striker is a deep look into a series, usually done in more words than it looks. Dog Days is dissected of it's most critically unanswered questions, or vaguely answered questions thereof.

Dog Days has proven to have a great cast, but quite a bit of a weak way they were handled. A lot of that has to do with the plot, and how exactly are we supposed to be satisfied if the explanations were all so simply a convenient setup? This is my view on Flonyard, not as a fanfic idea, but utilizing the creative prowess of my brain, an explanation as if I were the creator of Dog Days. Purely my opinion, unofficially sensible. Theory and speculation.

Legend: Millimeter = Milhiore, Sink = Cinque or for fansub viewers = Shinku, Galletto = Gallete, Biscuitti = Biscotti, Ricochet = Ricotte

Q: Okay, biggest question of all is, where did the evil tentacle sword come from?

A: You know, this being the early days of Flonyard, it wouldn't be surprising if the few humans in this world decided to do a little experiment. My best explanation I can give for that sword is, let's say for example someone somewhere was experimenting with the summoning process, and in it's infancy, it proved quite unstable with what comes out of the portal. So a bad sword came flying towards the ground, striking a poor foxy for some immense collateral damage. This of course causing quite a havoc, which the humans took upon themselves to correct, utilizing hero's of the Exelide Paladion ring things. Then the poor fox was sealed, and peace prevails in that world. Don't you think it would be an interesting take if a requirement for getting rid of the evil sword, is that it requires an off-worlder? One fit enough to brandish Paladion to it's fullest potential. There's something to consider too: when Sink was traveling through the wormhole back in episode 01, there was some strangely familiar lightning in that wormhole. Hmm hm.

Q: Let's talk about the summoning process. Obviously, your theory is that it was used to pull the evil sword into their world. Now what?

A: Well, suppose my theory is correct, and those who remained of the battle are now aware of the benefits (and dangers) of off-world summons. I'll be frank, Mama Fox was rather vague with her storytelling, but the gist of it is, it's quite a big planet, and say the Human civilization was located in only one tiny part of the world. So let's say for example, the pre-Galletto's (wielders of the Battle Axe and sword) were responsible for the bad summon, and obviously didn't know where in the world that summoned sword went, and as time went on (according to Mother Fox, about 200 years >_>), the summoning process was ironed out a bit, such as summoning to one's exact location, the strength of the summon, etc. Of course, by this time Raging Fox had reached human territory (remember it's walking pace is quite slow, not counting the food and lodging XD) and by now the humans saw something they couldn't handle, so they decided to use their new portal array to bring in some otherworldly hero's and weapons. Enter the magic weapons, the 4 mentioned ones being Exelide, Paladion, Granveil and Ex-Machina. It was mentioned other countries have their own, and I wouldn't be surprised if all these weapons were together in the fight, wielded by a group of people, not just 4. So suppose they saw the root of the problem, apparently a sword similar to their own, and piecing together that oh gee, someone screwed up, and now something needs to be done. Foxy sealed, peace in the land, and now what. Maybe fingers were pointed, people were blamed, and then ultimately the decision was made that oh well, this is a little big planet, since we have our differences let's split up and go our separate ways. Granveil and Ex-Machine wielders formed the land known as Gallette, and the Paladion and Exelide wielders started the land of Happyness, Biscotti. Of course, the dangers (and benefits) of summoning were set in stone, and probably decreed into law on what exactly one would need to summon, if needed. More on this later.

Q: Okay, so if that's the case, where does Brioche fit in?

A: Honestly, it's hard to say. She's so secretive, no one even knows her 3 sizes :P Jokes aside, I'll be up front and say Brioche is a decendant/lineage of one of those involved in the sealing. Not exactly a decendant of the wielder of Paladion/Exelide, but rather of another country that took part in that battle. Maybe she is a decendant of the Paladion wielder, and has carried out the sealing process since on lesser monsters. Having been passed the sealing abilites, perhaps her real job was roaming the land sealing up "mistakes" the baby fox created while rampaging the land. Mistakes such as, maybe when the baby fox was walking around, any animal that touched it became a monster too, and perhaps the land it walked on became a decaying land of evil (hence why there are only certain "protected" lands), giving birth to those demon rumors from Noir. I would have to say Brioche wasn't exactly targeting baby fox, since it was already sealed, and rather, that thing she was searching for was what could be the cause of it waking up and breaking the seal, if it does. That's as much as I can go concerning Brioche, for all we know they could pull a fast one on us and actually say she is one of those remaining from the first sealing, and that she's an immortal XD

Q: So what can you say about Yukikaze?

A: What else, she's my waifu, end of discussion >:D

Q: Uh... so that would make sense then, if the evil baby fox really did decay the land it walks on.

A: Yes it would, as it would explain why the whole planet wasn't a protected area. It's like, say for example, the entire planet used to be a protected area, protected by the transparent deity's like Momma Fox and the opaque frogs. So it kinda makes sense if the baby fox got possessed, then some of what it didn't do before, got reversed. Instead of happily playing with the other animals in the forest, it ate them, instead of protecting the land, it destroyed them. Something like that. Of course, in episode 10 he wasn't really laying waste to the land, while he did leave a damaged trail, I think it's about him destroying the land like in the past, as opposed to him just walking away in ep 10.

Q: What about Leon-sama's stargazing abilities? Was she going mental?

A: You know, I like to leave no stone unturned, and it certainly gets interesting. Recall how I mentioned that it was perhaps the early Galletto's who are responsible for the failed summon of the evil sword. It makes sense then, that when they were made aware of this, perhaps it's been passed down to the succeeding rulers of Gallette to always be mindful of the impending danger of that sword. So maybe it's in the Lion bloodline to always be having visions of the dangers that evil sword imposes should it re-awaken, and why Leon-sama's visions were involving Millimeter, the Biscuitti ruler, user of Exelide. Of course, the inaccuracy of Leon-sama's visions can be attributed to the passage of time, and/or the strength of the current seal on Baby Fox, as Leon-sama has not had such a strong vision before, and only until the Hero of Paladion arrived, did her visions get stronger, and Baby Fox reacting to the existence once again of it's nemesis.

Q: Where's Ex-Machina?

A: I'll admit, I don't even know if we've ever seen it. Did we? Because my joke is, that Ex-Machina is actually the evil sword. Make of that what you will lol.

(So begins the start of EPISODE 13 related topics)

Q: Er... let's talk about that letter that describes what to do if a summoned one is sent back to their world, the letter Ricotte read in episode 13.

A: This one is interesting, because the letter was sealed with a Biscuitti seal. I'll tell you it's all correct, but how does it all fit? I'm going back to my theory above (the answer to question #2), on how the humans split up into different countries. Obviously, that happened after the battle, but the key thing to think about is the part where I mentioned that perhaps some of those that took part in the battle might have been off-worlders. So let's say for example, perhaps the Biscuitti hero just had to go home, or some things just couldn't work out between man and dogirl. So, let the guy go home, but of course, summoning and all that jazz must have been a heck of a ritual to pull off, this probably being the first time something is sent back, so, let's look at it this way. Maybe after several trials, it was finally figured out what it takes to send the guy home. This all happening if we were to believe the wielder of Exelide was a dogirl, and the wielder of Paladion was an off-world guy, and that maybe she fell in love with him, they used the power of love to seal the baby fox, had a kid of their own, but then daddy hero needs to go home for a quickie. Ahem, back to the summoning, it was probably determined that in order for this guy to go home, he needs to do certain things in order to come back. So after a tearful goodbye, Biscuitti researchers decided to share their newfound knowledge of what not to do to make return summons (de-summons?) work, and sent word to Galletto researchers. (They're not exactly enemies) I guess somewhere along the way, maybe the letter was delivered to the Galletto library and left on a pile of books that needed to be re-filed, some absent minded librarian stacked the books and shoved them into a shelf, lost forever, meanwhile in Biscuitti land apparently the person who wrote out the letter forgot to log those findings into the journal, and so only a brief portion (the first half) of the return summoning was left on record. Oh how convenient :p

Q: Well that kind of fits into some things, such as how Sink and Millimeter were able to defeat the evil sword.

A: Having magic weapons like that certainly makes a lot of sense if they were from another world, considering after all those hundreds of years later, these civilizations don't even have motorized transport, and still ride on... giant birds. Not to say Fire Emblem is strange >_> Also that end part of episode 10 may have been a similar event to the first sealing, with a group participation, and not just 2. After all, if it weren't for Leonmichelle, the evil sword may have very well eaten Sink alive. The interesting part is that only until Millimeter decided to help Sink defeat the evil sword, did Exelide assist them. Power of Love? I know, that's kind of being used a lot recently, but it's a strong indicator here. And what of it, they both decided to pull out the evil sword together (with their rings shining together :P). A couple that fights together, stays together. Er... that might have been worded wrong, but still, Sink pulled it out himself afterwards, and Millimeter turned her attention to the baby fox. Working together. Let's talk about Brioche's words about a hero returning home after their missions are accomplished. If that first Biscuitti hero was from another world, and had to go back home, maybe afterwards all these rules were made so as to not abuse hero summoning, and make it so that if the people of Flonyard ever need to be saved from an evil sword again, they could bring in an off-worlder, have him do his job, and let him decide if Flonyard is a nice place to live, so as much as to not let another broken hearted princess experience what the first dogirl experienced. Maybe that's why Momma Fox was so intent on Princess Millimeter to save her baby fox, maybe the power of love was needed after all. Oh bugger...

Q: Come on, one of the amusing things about all this is the mind wiping. He entered Flonyard with his Earth memories, why not leave with a few more?

A: I would make a joke and say on the way back to Earth he exited the Stargate at such an amazing force that he hit his head XD Okay seriously, let's look at it this way. It'll be his first time into the world, a world he's never been to before, a world that has magical properties in the land that can apparently protect it's citizens from death from a blunt force trauma attack. So let's say the mystical properties in the world actually had a tantalizing effect on the off-worlder who entered this newfound land. Say it configured his mind to conform to life on Flonyard. That would certainly make sense then, given the fact that if he wanted to leave in a regrettable state of mind, perhaps the local deity's are so caring enough to have him leave in a peace of mind, as if it all was just a dream.

Q: Wait, so you're saying that maybe the magical land is playing tricks on his mind, that if he leaves, bye bye memories? I mean, time limits on when memories can either stay or lost forever?

A: It's connecting, actually. Recall my earlier quips about the early Biscuitti's probably researching into sending the first Hero back home. It's not like the letter was sent to Galletto's research department right away, as we've seen before Millimeter has watched Sink on TV before actually meeting him. So maybe the previous princess that was in love with the first Hero spent a few days watching him on TV, and after that certain number of days past by they were able to see what state of mind said Hero was in. Afterwards, it was a matter of calculating, this all making sense, of course, if my above theories are correct. Of course the local deity's might be playing tricks on the Flonyard humans and just put a timer on anyone who enters the world :P And just why is it the researchers are kids, and not the old men? Something's wrong with Biscuitti's chain of command lol.

Q: Do you honestly think Sink met the requirements of the return summon all to coincidentally?

A: Well if you know me, I'm not an advocate of "convenient" storytelling. But I'm probably going to surprise you here, the first time I watched ep 13, I didn't think it was strange he went out of his way to give gifts to a lot of people, especially friends. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm from Europe that courtesy and good manners was something I believed was always a nice trait to have, and it was not uncommon for me to give someone something to remember me by. Especially the written note that sink enclosed in the case for the pocket watch, that certainly is not strange either. If you've ever won awards/commendations or prizes like I have, they'd usually include some form of certificate or written proof of the importance of that commemorative item. I wouldn't be surprised if that pocket watch had a certificate of achievement for Sink. Maybe what I was hoping for was for Sink to give Leon-sama something, like... a collar *runs*

Q: What about the inter-dimensional doggy that can travel between both worlds? In ep 13 he even brought Paladion to boot.

A: How funny it would be if some scientist on earth got their hands on Paladion, and then reverse engineer it, and then a new war breaks out on earth XD. Ahem what I mean to say is, I certainly don't find it strange. Think about it this way, in ep 11 we see the doggies as a part of the sealing ceremony. What if they were also off-world animals? It would certainly make sense as to why they are quite significantly different looking than Flonyard's animals, and that they... have no human form. I mean I honestly think those humans in planet Flonyard are what we call pets on Earth; dogs, cats, bunnies and such. So I guess it makes a lot of sense when you actually see a real dog, and not a human with dog ears, that it would be from another world, and why it can travel to and from Earth.

Q: Well this certainly has been fun. What about one last gaff, where Millimeter holds onto Sink's hand, effectively halting him from floating upwards for several seconds. Why didn't physics kick in and send her flying too?

A: Well, she got leech-seeded and could not be switched out :P Ahem I think it has a lot to do with that thing I mentioned earlier about how they must have tried to find a way to send the first hero back out, supposing he was an off-world human. Something that was designed specially for him, effectively preventing the indigenous princess from being drawn up as well. I mean his bag went up too, right? So it's not like Millimeter's skirt got blown upwards from the force of the... gravity? lol Though I admit that would have been a nice sight :P

Q: Wow, how cool it would be if this were all true.

A: Yeah, honestly, it's a little shaky because I did not write Dog Days, but this is basically me just a little irritated when something is not well written from the start. I've experienced this kind of heavy theorizing and speculation in my infamous involvement with the Nintendo DS game, Luminous Arc 2. I heavily tore that story apart, as it too was a victim of fragmented storytelling, something the developers had to answer after the game was released (which sadly to this day, I have not had the pleasure of reading). I do hope though that if the Dog Days creators have not thought this far ahead, to just please, give this a read, and maybe Dog Days Season 2 can actually use some of these elements as a basis for an interesting story. I certainly hope anyone reading this would know more about how I like to keep no story fragmented, and hopefully when I go public with my manga projects that my stories would be wholefully enjoyable, and not fragmented.

A: Yeah, I decided to go the interview method since my most popular post apparently happens to also be a self interview. I do like spending time on only 1 series per season and theorizing and speculating it heavily, and it helps if there is no source material to go on like Dog Days, as it totally becomes an impressive storm on my brain's creativity where I would mostly have to grasp at air. I for one certainly enjoyed Dog Days, and if most of these do actually become important parts of the story officially, then I'd be a happy camper. Seriously, someone ought to pass these on to the Creators, I would love to meet them and have a little conversation on all things Dog Days ;)

Storm-front = no daily blogging

Well, a storm recently rolled into the Philippines over the weekend,
right when I thought daily blogging was a possibility. The reason why
my connection is extremely crappy is the technical mumbo jumbo related
to 3G signals and atmospherical conditions. It's a bit complicated to
explain, and not really something I feel like doing, but it basically
boils down to 'perfect weather = good connection' and 'bad weather =
spotty connection'. I miss Germany already.

Young Justice Episode 10

Some of the new changes to my blogging, due to the retirement of my personal blog I'll be posting about things like this too, not just Anime and Manga.

I gotta say, Wendy looks cute. It's really just one of those rare cases where I got this hot feeling in my heart for a girl like her. Can I hope for more school life in my superhero cartoon? :D

Still, it's getting kinda hard to keep up with this style of directing for Young Justice, where during the action they cut into slice of life, then back to action. Not the first time, but it's going to take some getting used to, as I understand the creators are taking this series seriously with character development and how seriously connected all the episodes are in terms of continuity. I mean, the last great DC series I got into was Justice League and JLU, which kept it's episodic roots but had some continuity among them. Still though, I love Young Justice, although episode 10 strangely lacked Robin and Kid Flash >__>

But, as usual, the best part:

Dog Days Episode 11

Since I seem to have failed again to blog every episode of a season, I figured the best solution to a timestrapped personage like me is to post what I post at Animesuki...

I see London, I see France, I-.... never mind

Hahaha HA, episode 11! But it's all over a bit too quick! While I was right that Yukikaze and Brioche were right down there waiting for it, I still think the whole evil sword thing is resolved without much of an explanation. Like, who built it (Biscuitti Factories?), where'd it come from (summoned from another world?), and why wasn't it a giant octopus instead of a sword, at least those magic tentacles would have made more sense tantalizing the girls of Flonyard.

She got the biggest ones in this series... you know what I'm talking about

But whatever, Leon-sama is sorry, Yukikaze is ~~probably~~ a 900 yr old, and peace reigns in the land. Except for the part where we didn't get to see much of a fight the last couple of eps, with the Color girls getting as short of a fight as their ep 05 battle, we only got 1 scene of General Goodwin, and Rolan and Bernard still remain on the sidelines like always. And Ricochet never used her artillery...

Oh wow, Eclair is into petting! Me first!

I kinda laughed though when we were shown more scenes of Leon-sama in Millimeter's special place. They were really, really close....

What in the world did Millimeter do to get that mussed up?

But more importantly we got deredere Eclair! Blushing Eclair! Eclair who-didn't-gut-punch Sink when he grabbed her :heh: I bet she's gonna cry when Sink leaves :p

Yup, she's nekkid. How else do ya explain those deadly curves? XD

Anyways, quite a concert that was. Millimeter has the technology to change clothes at will? So it doesn't have to be a leaf? She could have used this last ep when her clothes disappeared XD

RE: the controversy, Dog Days Episode 11

A part of the new changes coming to my blog, is the return of my tagline "RE: the controversy" that I had back in 2006, this time regarding any form of 4koma I think up, whether drawn by me or screencapped.

The meaning of "RE: the controversy" is about the thought provoking things I come across in Anime and Manga, things that have an amusing spin to them, such as the Dai Maou 4koma I did about Etou Fujiko and her missed opportunity to control Akuto. For this 4koma, the thought I had in my mind when I watched episode 11 was about panel 2, where it looks like Millimeter is holding the baby fox a little too tightly, especially since it's kinda wounded and all. So when Yukikaze held him, I was imagining myself as that baby fox, with Yuki's soft big ones ever so softly on the back of my head XD Of course, the joke works best if you know those lyrics to that song.

Doesn't the baby fox look so cute being held like that? lol

Hoshizora he Kakaru Hashi episode 08: I like them butts and I cannot lie

Seriously, this was a bootylicious episode. Not mentioning the high
amount of camera pans for a beach ep I've seen in recent years, this
episode was great.... except for the freaking zombie. Honestly, Ayumu
is ruining everything you thought about a harem series. He is
effectively the butt end of Daigo's fantasies, from cosplay to day
dreams. And the zombie is popular with the girls, probably more so
than Kazuma is. Or at least, the zombie has the better part of the
cast of girls. In previous eps we see he's the object of affection of
MY Hina, and now we see he's captured Tsumugi (in Daigo's dream), but
even more so now the zombie knows Tsumugi's (secret heh). Let's not
forget he's got his own personal escort in Kasane-chan lol.

Hidan No Aria episode 01

Well here's a series I knew of before the Anime announcement, Hidan No Aria. But like Dai Maou though, it was through it's manga version, and not the novel version. That's kind of going in the weird direction right? The first adaption, and then the second adaption. But something tells me I won't dive into the original source like Dai Maou, for reasons as lame as "not enough time". This episode review will be seen from the manga reader's view, so if I suddenly spout something unknown, it probably would help to read the manga a bit.

So, episode 01 starts in a rather thrilling way... Imagine sticking a bomb under Paperboy's bike, and the gameplay is "deliver XXX newspapers before the timer expires while dodging obstacles, oncoming traffic and inbound bombing runs, if mission fails, BOOM!" For some reason I'm finding myself wanting to play a game like that XD

I want to know who started that, you know. The part where like the first 5-10 minutes of a movie has this really interesting lead-in that is supposed to keep you in your seat, lately lots of anime has been opening their first episodes in a similar fashion *cough*Strike Witches S2*cough* so not only do you get this Paperboy sequence in the beginning, a good chunk of the episode has it again, so the first episode has a little less content than it looks. After the OP comes a little slice of life that is supposed to introduce you to the protagonist, where you'll think the girl who visits him (Shirayuki) is his girlfriend, and where you'll think Kinji is a model student, but when he gets to school his bike was rigged for impact. Ah, as the Americans would say, that's a hot seat. On his bike. I think I got that wrong. But he's still biking around town like the Biker Mice and he's got a Uzi armed Segway painting his six.

I don't even know if I called it correctly, but the title girl, Aria, is probably the main character. Meh, I guess only for a shoujo series, but anyways, she spies him from atop a building. Sure, from that height it's not too hard to see a bike being chased by a unmanned Segway, but I’m impressed that she managed to time her jump that well, because I know it’s not easy calculating the various factors of speed, wind, distance, or anomalies of third parties. Heck, what if the Segway decided to fire at her chute? It'd be a short end to this series :P

She does manage to save his ass (literally), but I found it quite amusing how far they actually rolled (from the street, past the school gate, into the equipment shed. I'd say 50-80 meters lol). The scene between Kinji and Aria while stuck in the stack of jumping horse things was amusing, and nice to see animated. But then a couple more Segways show up. First thing I'm thinking of is, imagine if all these guys were chasing Kinji on the bike. No way Aria would be here right now XD. Anyways, Kinji's all excited from having a rather flat chest literally on his face, so he's gone and activated Gentleman mode, and brings out of the line of fire and saves the day. I just love how Aria is all blushing over it.

Aria's still pissed at Kinji for having a good view of her chest, and she hides back in the jumping horses to fix her skirt, with Kinji loaning her his belt. She's still in a tirade, and they duke it out when Kinji escalated her belligerence by actually comparing her to a little kid. Kinji simply walks away from Aria, who slipped and slid on bullets, while still ranting. Here's something fun though, Kinji's bag was mysteriously preserved from the bike bomb, and he continues to class with it. He encounters Aria in class, and she returns his belt leading to a rather hilarious scene between romance conditions and Aria's anti-love stance. Next thing we know Kinji is back home, and one has to wonder if he even managed class with Aria as hot-headed as she was. But she barges in and ends the episode calling him a slave. Yippee!

Aria so gangsta!

One of the things I want to do with some Anime this season, is to see what differences occurred between the Anime version, and it's manga/novel/game counterpart. In the case of Hidan no Aria episode 01, I will only compare to the manga since I don't read the novel and others have said the manga is quite a close adaption of the novel. The episode only covered the first 2 chapters of the manga, and a little of chapter 3. What I'm going to do here is list the (noticeable) differences between Anime<->Manga.

--The Anime went a little in depth into the whole Shirayuki thing at the beginning, compared to the manga, where she had just a couple of lines. This will seem odd in the next few eps.

--In the Anime version, Sayonaki's lectures covered some of the basics of what you needed to know for this story.

--The Segway chasing Kinji was cheap looking in the manga (loudspeaker tied on top of gun), whilst in the Anime it looks like the Segway was made for the Uzi mount lol.

--To avoid the hail of fire from the multiple Segways near the end of the ep, Kinji sidestepped. In the Manga, he leaned back. I would have to say the Manga version looked a little too impossible.

That's basically some of, if not all of the big differences, as you can see, it followed the story details quite closely.

Feel my Birthday: the hilarity of this day.

Ah, my birthday. That's what this day was all about, and you can see last year 2010, I made a post about that hilarious thing I do on May 8.

The hilarious thing I do today is of course fire up my DS and play the two games "Feel the Magic XY/XX", and "Rub Rabbits", sequel to Feel the Magic. Owners of these 2 games probably know why, but I'll spoil it here for those of you who don't know what makes these games special. You know how when you turn on your DS, and if it's a special day, such as New Years, it makes a special boot up sound, which also plays on your birthday. Funnily enough, both of the above mentioned games have a feature like that too, where the girl in those games congratulates you with a "Happy Birthday" when you reach the Main menu of the game. I know what your thinking, I must be a sad bloke for firing up these games on my birthday, but come on! It's a feature of the game, and I thought to myself "I wonder if I can keep up playing these 2 games on my birthday". Ever since 2005 I have played FtM (Rub Rabbits came out in 2006) ever since, and it not only became a tradition of mine, but a hilarious test of my devotion to one of my most favorite handhelds ever. Honestly, I wanted to do that as a part of my Human Psychology research, to see if I've got a screw loose somewhere if these 2 games become a staple on my birthday. I'm inzane in the membrane, remember? I'm probably the only guy in this world that plays these 2 games on his birthday. This being the same guy that jams to House of Pain's Top o' The Morning to Ya on this day as well.

Now you are probably thinking I should get my game on with Love Plus instead. If only it was localized, yeah, because while I may understand what my girlfriend says, I don't want to pick the wrong option when she asks me for some Ice cream XD

Happy Birthday mangatron!

May 8th. It's a a special day for me, especially for this year, but it's not entirely because it's my birthday, but for several other reasons.

I'm a big fan of the anime call "MM!", aired during Fall 2010, and if you didn't watch it (spoilers), at the end of the last episode, the whole gang decided to celebrate Isurugi Mio's birthday. I really liked that scene, not because it was really touching, but that's similar to my situation over the years, as time went on I had always spent my birthdays in a quiet way, it went to the point where my parents and siblings don't remember it anymore (or they didn't want to mention it lol). My own mother regularly forgot how old I am lol. It wasn't always a sad thing, as I didn't take it as a bad thing, but rather a chance for me to do something interesting, and during those times I was alone in remembering my birthday, and I turned it into a day of hilarity, and in recent years, it has become a bit of some insanity thrown in XD

But you might have heard that news where the MM! creator passed away recently, and I got to thinking, I liked MM so much, and now it looks like we may never get that second season we all wanted, and now I find it hard thinking that maybe the grandest thing to ever happen to the series is that Mio was no longer alone, and her birthday was finally celebrated among those that have supported her, not as club members, but eventually as friends.

So you'll notice at the Animesuki forums, I decided to use that option to just "show day and month" of one's birthday, it's no longer a day I get to do something really stupid by myself, this is also in memory of Mio, and the MM! series, and I want to thank the creator for all those memories, and my decision to reveal it first on the Animesuki forums is a thank you to all the members who have put up with my inZanity and ridulous, sensible posts for a good 7 years, thanks guys and girls! It's not over yet though lol! Now I get to celebrate with all of Animesuki :D

Some more information as to why my birthday is special:

-This day also happens to be the officially recognized Victory Europe day.
-Born in (West) Germany, it makes the above even more special. Tom Cruise may have been born on the 4th of July XD, but I was born the day the new Germany was born.
-My name, still to be withheld till a later time, also plays an important part in the whole VE/Germany thing.
-This year also happens to be a wonderful year, and May starts off pretty nicely too. Bin Laden's demise, and then great movies like Thor and Pirates of the Caribbean, and I'm definitely looking forward to Transformers DOTM.
-The day, 8th, also happens to be my favorite number. Not that billiards thing, honestly XD

A part of my decision to reveal my birthday was to lessen the anonymity towards my readers and to lessen that not-so-mysterious vibe that keeps emanating from my blog. Of course, things like my year and age and name are still kept secret mainly for security reasons, ones such as the recent Sony PSN fiasco going on now. I'm so glad I held off on pressing X on that PSN icon on the XMB of my PSP lol.

Some of the notable past birthdays:
-In 2003 I entered an art contest for my local library, and my Manga inspired artwork won the 1st prize. During the years Harry Potter was popular, my artwork lost to the Grand Prize: a dragon >__> I spent that prize on my birthday on volume 2 of the Onegai Teacher manga. I had the hots for Mizuho :D
-In the same year I joined Animesuki, I was a beta tester for Novalogic and their game Joint Operations, the competitor to EA's Battlefield. For that year and 2005, I played that game on my birthday, garnering me the nickname "RPG master", and my suicidal gameplay style was a scourge on opposing players, which was actually my foreknowledge of the game that kept me a step ahead.
-In 2006, when I was recovering from the first of many food poisoning incidents, I decided to buy my second Apple product, an iPod 30GB (the video one. Previous Apple product was a Shuffle). It was the beginning of a love hate relationship with Apple, ending with me giving away that iPod because I was driven to madness that is the program called iTunes and the monopolistic way I had to load video's onto it, not to mention the abyssmal battery life and the brightness update that came too late.
-2007 and 2008 saw me with abruptly ending my fansub translation career and largely recovering from repeated food poisoning incidents then on. It was then that I decided to start working on my Manga projects, and the year 2008 saw the birth of 1 project in a complete form. Since then I have added another project which I decided was a good enough debut. The projects are currently waiting for me to recover from the trauma I am currently experiencing with the damage suffered to my right wrist during vacation 2010.

There's something else stupid I do on my birthday, and while I may look at it as stupid, I'm sure many of you will raise an eyebrow and go "say what?" lol. Look forward to it in posts that follow.

Dog Days episode 02

If my quip about Dog Days reminding me about the X-games with just episode 01, episode 02 further confirms this.

I'll have to say, I was largely expecting Sink to pull off some nosegrabbing, frontside 360 shifty moves while piling up the score, and he somewhat did lol.

Mad Dog!

I wonder whose bright idea was it to leave poor Eclair all to her lonesome, the cute little doggy shouldn't be left alone to face the swarm of ferocious cats coming her way. So leave it to the Sink to save her, but the bloke just wanted to level up by learning some magic attacks. I guess Hero's don't have to earn experience points to use magic.

Sink copping a feel.

It's here when Leon-sama joins the game, and fires a shot heard 'round the world, that causes Eclair to end up on top of the Sink. This part is where Sink cops a feel, and much to Eclair's displeasure, the real reason I can guess why she was angry was for being thought of as a guy, and not a girl. Seems some girls still worry about breast size after all ;)

Leon-sama activates Freezing. I mean...

We have detonation. Don't worry, that's just Castle Bravo going off.

The rest of the ep, or rather the entire ep was just this battle, with Leon-sama plowing the field, team-killing and all, and then showing off an incredible killing spree with her tactical nuke, until Eclair and the Sink confront her and jump her.

Poor girl needs a bra. Might I suggest watching Chu Bra?

The battle concludes with some real fanservice from those 2 girls, ah corset Leon-sama was a deadly attraction but shimapan Eclair totally caught me by surprise and inflicted a heavily damaging nosebleed on me.

Wardrobe malfunction on live television!

To end the ep, the Sink learns he cannot go home. He is now Home Alone 2: Lost in Flonyard.

Dog Days episode 01

Spring 2011 is one of the seasons of Anime series' where I don't have advance knowledge of a series before airtime. Except for the obvious original series here and there, Spring has several series I knew nothing about before their announcement, and Dog Days (hereby nickname D-Days) is one of them.

Lightning flashes ONLY when the Batman talks. Everyone else is a copy.

I'll be honest front and center, this series immediately reminded me of the X-Games, a series of events covering extreme sports. You know, friendly, daring competition. And while D-Days started as serious as an online FPS Clan meeting, this series seems to not get any more serious than its words.

Unscheduled off-world activation! R.I.P., Stargate

Our lead male is someone I have to nickname as "Kitchen Sink", for several reasons, notwithstanding his not-so-common name (Cinque), and the fact that a Sink is one word that comes to mind. He's a jumper, and while some FPS players of old know the truth behind that hack, his ability to jump like an Olympian athlete is what gets him into a portal to the Doggy Land. While I'm not sure if he can respawn, he thinks it's a good idea to have some fun since it would be a waste. Hmm, a resourceful fellow, eh, it's as if I said "Hmm, since I'm here in Libya while the Gaddafi's lay some Arty all around me, I might as well fight back since it'll be a waste" lol.

I'm going to be frank here, my knowledge of Japanese history is just as bad as.... well what the heck, I hail from Germany, and while I can recite the whole WWII whermacht campaign with an average amount of detail, I have to admit my knowledge of Japanese history is being polluted by Anime with Female-of-a-male historic characters. Sengoku Otome Momoiro Paradox is one of those Anime, and I'll admit I don't mind going back to school if it's to learn about these girls :P Especially when this series is largely devoid of males (if only it weren't for the modern day scenes!).

She's gonna attack her teacher! What an intense Anime!

But as usual, there's some way to go back in time to see these girls, and our heroine, a rather clumsy girl, does a good job of doing that. While I'm looking forward to the end of this series to see how they explain the time trip, I don't mind the world our clumsy Hideyoshi stumbles into. I'm probably going to sound like a scratched CD and say I'm not going to question why the world is devoid of males, but our busty leader Oda Nobunaga is a leader I'd follow XD

Without a male in this series, it does look like a candidate for yuri...

She drops in the middle of the largest campfire she'll ever see (yeah to her I'd say she'd think it's a campfire lol), with Oda-chan showing up to save the day. Well maybe not save the day, as I doubt she's got aquatic powers to douse the flames XD

Of course, leave it to Hideyoshi to think they're cosplaying, and I find it funny they weren't very curious as to what her cellphone really is. In fact, when Oda-chan tried to do her own will-it-blend destruction on it, she never bothered to take a good look at it. Hideyoshi could have shown them the ropes on all things celly.

But they're not jelly one bit, and Hideyoshi wants to go home, get a burger and fries with that, and yet she doesn't seem to notice the quiet world around her. You know, the world without the hustle bustle of city life, no trains running around, no city lights, nothing. Maybe that's why she doesn't know how to get home, so she crashes the Nobunaga party. Thus we see a bit of the main plot of this story, Oda-chan needs some achievements to unlock the Crimson Armor cheat :P
